Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has urged the newly appointed Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, to prioritize addressing the state’s challenges of cultism and kidnapping.
Fubara gave the directive during a courtesy visit by Adepoju and senior officers of the State Police Command to the Government House in Port Harcourt.
The governor also cautioned the police chief against participating in late-night meetings that could escalate political tensions in the state.
In response, CP Adepoju pledged to adopt a non-partisan approach while carrying out his duties, ensuring fairness and professionalism in maintaining law and order.
