Former Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has been appointed as the new General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club. The appointment was officially announced by the Kano State Government as part of a broader reconstitution of the club’s management.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf approved Musa’s appointment alongside a new leadership team aimed at repositioning the club ahead of the upcoming Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season. According to a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the changes are intended to combine administrative competence with deep football knowledge.
Musa, who previously played for Kano Pillars before his move to Europe, is expected to bring his wealth of international experience to the club’s management. His appointment has been widely welcomed by fans and stakeholders as a strategic move to restore the club’s glory and attract greater investment.
Ali Muhammad Umar has also been named chairman of the newly formed board, which replaces the outgoing management team whose tenure expired recently.
The new leadership is expected to begin preparations for the next NPFL season immediately, including the appointment of a new head coach.
