Rivers State Governor, Barr, Nyesom Wike has said that he will commission the Ikoku flyover in April 2022.
The governor, said this during the flag-off of the Rumuokwurusi-Elimgbu/West Road Junction by His Excellency Sen. Bala Mohammed, Governor of Bauchi State, today.
According to him, contractors are working to ensure its completion before the deadline.
The governor, had earlier announced that the state government was preparing to construct the 11th and 12th flyovers at Rumuokwuta and Location junctions respectively.
He explained that the essence of the flyover is to reduce traffic around the Mgbuoba axis of the state.
Meanwhile, mixed reactions have continued to trail the governor’s announcement. While some criticized the move, others described it as a welcome development.
