Rivers State Governor, Barr, Nyesom Wike has signed the bill derecognising Sir. Celestine Omehia as a former Governor of the state.
This signing took place at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Friday. With this, Omehia seizes to be addressed as His Excellency.
He is also expected to refund all monies received from the state government.
The state Assembly had yesterday derecognised Omehia as a former governor citing the ruling of the supreme Court which removed him from office in 2007.

I may not agree with Gov. Nyesom Wike on every issue but the fact still remains that he is a political guru/heavy weight in Rivers State, despite his short comings.
He recognized Celestine Omehia as a former governor of the state, something H.E., Rt. Hon. Amaechi never imagined of.
Politically speaking, it is wrong for Omehia to have stand or secretly fight against the man who have done him such a favour. Perhaps, what he failed then to understand was “he who made you, can also destroy you.”
Anyone who knows or understands Gov. Wike pattern of politics, will know that this is almost similar scenario that played out with Tammy Danagogo and was finally reiterated back to his position as the Secretary to the State Government of Rivers State.
I hope Celestine Omehia’s luck shines bright before Gov. Wike leaves office.
