A Rivers resident, has frowned at a statement credited to Governor, Nyesom Wike that the chances of the People’s Democratic Party winning the 2023 presidential is very bright if Gov. Bala Mohammed of Kaduna State, emerged flagbearer of the party.

The man, who pleaded anonymity said the statement would do the Southern region more harm than good. He said it would affect the chances of a southerner emerging presidential flagbearer of the party.

He questioned the rationale behind Wike’s comment, adding that he is more qualified than all Governors of the PDP put together.

He said, it is clear now that the governor is only interested in becoming the Vice President of the country and not the President.

“Is it a crime if someone from the South South or South East becomes president?” he asked.

“I am shocked at the governor’s statement. It will hinder the chances of the Southern region. Why is Wike only interested in becoming Vice President. He is more qualified than all PDP Govs,” he added.
