Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has said that Police reforms should include re-orientation and a change in mindset while stating that the issue of security has been politicised in the country.
The Governor made this known in a live TV interview today Friday October 16 2020.
He said the issue of politicisation of security was what led to the stopping of the security outfit “neighborhood watch” he tried to set-up in the state.
He said Rivers State is unique and economically relevant to the country and as such requires extra security measures.
In addition, he called for a true federal system of government in the country, while taking a swipe at President Buhari, for appointing one of his aides Lauretta Onochie as a national commissioner of INEC.
