Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has reacted to the defection of Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State from the PDP to the APC, and the statement credited to him that the South-East has suffered injustice in the hands of the PDP since 1998.
Wike in a statement yesterday described the statement by Umahi as unfortunate while accusing him of blackmailing the PDP to incite the South-East against the party.
Wike who noted that he is not surprised over his defection, alleged that Umahi decamped to the APC because he wants to contest as president of Nigeria in 2023.
He called on Dave Umahi to retract the statement as under the party, the South-East has occupied exotic positions in the country.
