Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state has said that there are certain criteria students at the state owned university must meet before receiving the N30,000 pocket money he promised them.
The Governor disclosed this in a series of tweets on Saturday, after a meeting with the Dean of Student’s Affairs and some students of the institution few days ago
Governor Ikpeazu who said the fee was to cushion the effect of the COVID-19 Pandemic said the guidelines are as follows:
All Departmental student leaders are to compile names of students of Abia origin in their respective departments.
The university management is to also raise a similar list and that government will cross-match both lists & commence payment from December.
“The list shall include such details of the students as follows:
i. Name
ii. Community of Origin
iii. LGA of Origin
iv. Phone Number, &
v. Account Number
