Governor, Sim Fubara’s Special Adviser on political affairs, Dr Darlington Oji has described claims that the governor was planning to dissolve LG councils and forcefully conduct LG election as false.

Oji in a statement said the tenure of the council chairman were still running and that the governor has not made any attempt at dissolving them.

He urged Rivers people to ignore the claims as there are no such plans by the governor.

“The tenure of the local government councils are still running, people were worried that the governor was going to dissolve the local government. Up until date the governor has never made any attempt pointing towards dissolving the LGA chairmen,” he said.

Recall that the APC caretaker chairman in the state, Tony Okocha, had during a recent press conference in Port Harcourt, alleged that Fubara’s government was planning to dissolve and conduct elections in the 23 LGAs, before the end of their tenure.
