Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing rehabilitation of road networks in the old Port Harcourt township, describing the project as a key step toward restoring the area’s former beauty and ambience.
The governor made this known after inspecting the road works, noting that the intervention is part of efforts by his administration to return the township to its past glory through improved infrastructure.
During the inspection tour, Governor Fubara also visited the Creek Road Market, where reconstruction is currently underway. He said the market is being rebuilt into a modern complex designed to accommodate traders currently operating along the streets and improve orderliness in the area.
According to him, upon completion of the market project, Creek Road itself will undergo full rehabilitation to enhance its appearance and reflect the historic character of the township.
Governor Fubara reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to good governance, stating that despite existing challenges, the government remains focused on delivering meaningful development to the people of Rivers State.
