The Ag. Chairman, Rivers State , Local Government Service Commission, Pst. GoodLife Ben, through the Dir. of Information and Communications -LGSC, Ebirieneuket Nteile C, wish to state categorically and unequivocally clear that there was no emergency meeting of the HLGAs of the 23 Local Gov’t. Councils with His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, the Governor of Rivers State on Friday 12, July ,2024, in Government House, Port-Harcourt.
The report circulating on social media with the caption “Gov. Fubara, HLGAs clash over Supreme Court Ruling”, is outright fallacy, unfounded and deceitful. It is just the work of the enemies of progress and therefore inconsequential and illogical.
Those responsible are very uninformed on Local Government administration and procedures.
Most importantly to note, is that the names of the HLGAs mentioned in the report are also fictitious.
We debunk the purported report in its entirety; and advise the public to discountenance it.
