Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara has directed heads of local government administration across the state to takeover governance in their respective areas until further notice.
The governor gave the directive during his statewide broadcast this morning.
He congratulated the outgoing Council chairmen and councils on the successful completion of their tenure, reiterating that their tenure ended yesterday.
Recall that the tenure of council chairmen ended yesterday. However, their were protests in some councils as the chairmen are insisting on not leaving office.
