The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has assured his supporters that he remains firmly in control of political affairs, urging them to remain calm and confident.
Wike gave the assurance while speaking at a reception organised in his honour by the Wakirike people, following the appointment of their son into the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), as he commended them for the gesture.
However, Wike expressed disappointment that some individuals who benefited greatly have failed to show gratitude. “Those we did everything for have not been able to say thank you,” he said, stressing the importance of appreciation and loyalty in leadership and political relationships.
He noted that gratitude encourages continued goodwill, adding that when good deeds are appreciated, more positive outcomes are likely to follow.Reassuring his audience, Wike told his supporters to “go home and sleep with your two eyes closed,” insisting that there was no cause for concern as he and his allies remained firmly in charge.
The reception was held in appreciation of Wike’s political influence and contributions to the Wakirike Nation and the wider Niger Delta region.
