Corruption In The Nigerian Petroleum Sector & Why Rivers People Are Suffering!
The FG is the sole importer of petroleum products as at today, through what was formerly known as PPMC.
How come, the gov’t who imports fuel does not have fuel in their own depot to sell to marketers, but the private depot who only gets the product through gov’t are having this product to sell to the marketers?. And they are selling at arbitrary & outrageous rates. why?
Because, if the cartel allows the imported product to go to the gov’t depot, they cannot sell at such price they sell at their own private tank farms, where they can sell at outrageous prices to marketers. Meaning, the greed and corruption of same gov’t that is importing the product, is also responsible for the artificial scarcity making marketers not to sell at gov’t approved rate of N179 per litre.
Take Note:
At Gov’t depot, marketers will buy at -N148 per litre, and sell at N179 per litre. Approved.
But at Private depot, price is sold over N250 to N280. & at any price, making it impossible for marketers to sell at gov’t approved rate of N179.
Meaning, same gov’t agents who are buying the product with gov’t money and subsidy, are the same people refusing to take the product to gov’t facilities where it can be sold at gov’t approved price because they want to make more money, (Corruption).
They rather send the product to their own private facilities, so that they can sell to marketers at outrageous prices. And this is why the independent marketers are selling at outrageous prices making the masses to suffer.

Is the President who is also the minister of petroleum not aware of this?
What is our pragmatic Gov Wike saying about this corruption killing his people?
Conclusion:
The same gov’t that was supposed to help the masses are the same people killing the people. Sad.
