The Rivers state government has advised residents to avoid panic buying of fuel, as a vessel containing petrol has arrived the Port Harcourt, depot.
The state Commissioner for Energy and Natural Resources, Hon. Peter Medee, said this during an interview with journalists.
According to him, the arrival of the vessel will end fuel scarcity in the state, as it contains enough petrol that will serve Rivers people.
Hon Medee, who called on petroleum marketers to sell at the government-approved price, said in a matter of days, they will begin to load.
“So, my advice to Rivers people is that they should avoid panic buying,” he said.
“I’m glad to announce today that we received a report that the vessel we have been waiting for has arrived at the Port Harcourt depot. In a matter of days and hours, they will begin to load,” he added.
