Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has appealed to residents of the state to support President Bola Tinubu, emphasizing that stronger cooperation between the federal and state governments will accelerate development.
The governor made the call on Thursday during the commissioning of the 12km Egbeda–Omerelu link road, which connects communities in Emohua and Ikwerre Local Government Areas. He said his administration is ready to work with all pro-Tinubu groups and stakeholders committed to national stability, noting that a peaceful political climate is crucial for progress.
Describing the newly completed road as another promise fulfilled, Fubara reminded residents that he had assured them of improved infrastructure during earlier project inaugurations in the area.
He restated that inclusive development remains a key priority of his government, assuring that no part of Rivers—urban or rural—will be excluded from ongoing and future projects.
The governor explained that his administration’s decision to publicly inaugurate projects is meant to provide transparent evidence of work done and to rebuild public trust amid heightened political tensions.
Fubara also urged residents to maintain peace, stressing that development is impossible in an atmosphere of conflict. Despite the pressures facing his administration, he said he remains committed to delivering good governance and improving the welfare of the people.
He encouraged Rivers people to stay hopeful and united, adding that more developmental projects will soon be unveiled as part of efforts to build a prosperous and inclusive state.
