Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as a man of integrity, discipline, and national purpose.
In a condolence message released on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, Governor Fubara conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the Buhari family, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Nigerian people, following the former president’s passing on Sunday at a London hospital.

He noted that Buhari’s leadership was marked by a strong commitment to anti-corruption, national security, and infrastructure renewal, stressing that these efforts defined his presidency and left a lasting impact on the country.
Reflecting on Buhari’s public service, Fubara acknowledged his roles as military Head of State from 1983 to 1985 and as a two-term civilian president from 2015 to 2023, describing his leadership as sincere and purposeful.
Governor Fubara prayed for the peaceful repose of the late president’s soul and asked for strength for his family and loved ones in this period of mourning.
