Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has paid glowing tribute to late gospel preacher, Rev. Uma Ukpai, lauding his immense contributions to global evangelism and his influence on the Christian community.
Fubara made the remarks during a Service of Songs held in honour of the cleric at the Royal House of Grace International Church.
The governor’s message was conveyed in a statement released on Wednesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi.
Represented by the Chief of Staff, Government House, Sunny Ewule, Fubara described the late Ukpai as a devoted servant of God whose ministry impacted lives across the world.
“We’re here to celebrate the life of God’s general who has sacrificed for all of us. He was always in the limelight in religious affairs; his crusades were well known all over, and he touched lives everywhere.
“The Rivers State Government celebrate with his family and the entire Christian community over his life,” he said.
The host and founder of the church, Apostle Zilly Aggrey, described Ukpai as a committed servant of God, adding that the gathering provided an opportunity for reflection and thanksgiving for his life.
