Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, was noticeably absent on Thursday as the Renewed Hope Family inaugurated its Local Government Area (LGA) Ambassadors in Port Harcourt.
The event, which attracted members from all 23 LGAs of the state, was attended by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, and other political leaders loyal to Wike.
Also absent were the Deputy Governor and former Speaker of the Assembly, Edison Ehie, alongside other officials aligned with the state government.
The inauguration was organised as part of efforts to promote and advance President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda in Rivers State through grassroots mobilisation.
The reason for Governor Fubara’s absence remains unclear, especially as he had earlier publicly declared support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.
Despite the absence of key state government officials and the venue setback, the ceremony went on as planned, with leaders of the Renewed Hope Family reaffirming their support for President Tinubu’s administration and pledging to deepen political engagement at the grassroots level in Rivers State.
