The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has alleged that the Rivers State Government denied his political group access to the Yakubu Gowon Stadium for its Renewed Hope Agenda rally, despite formally applying for its use.
Speaking during the inauguration of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Port Harcourt, Wike warned that if future applications to use the stadium are rejected, his supporters would force their way in. He stressed that they are Rivers indigenes and cannot be intimidated, declaring that “enough is enough.”
The former Rivers State governor stated that politics has already commenced in the state, insisting that Rivers remains firmly committed to supporting President Bola Tinubu. He challenged other states in the federation to demonstrate the same level of political capacity shown in Rivers under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Wike commended President Tinubu for ensuring the emergence of their candidates in the recent bye-elections in the state, and praised Rivers people for their support for the President despite what he described as little or no resources.
Reiterating that politics will formally begin in January, Wike vowed to provide buses for all the 319 wards in the state to enable party members and supporters to effectively carry out their political duties
