The Siminalayi Fubara, Governor of Rivers State, has approved the hosting of the 2026 Rivers Youth Annual Conference.
The development was announced by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Rivers State Chapter, which commended the governor for what it described as a strong demonstration of commitment to youth inclusion, development, and participatory governance.
In a statement signed by the state chairman of the council, Amb. Ambrose S. Okpor, the group expressed appreciation to the governor for approving the conference, noting that the decision reflects the administration’s focus on empowering young people and involving them in the state’s development process.
According to the council, the 2026 Youth Conference will provide a strategic platform for engagement, innovation, dialogue, and policy-driven solutions aimed at strengthening unity and progress across the state.
The NYCN added that the initiative would bring together young leaders, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders to discuss issues affecting youths and chart pathways for sustainable growth in Rivers State.
