The All Progressives Congress (APC) has approved the composition of sub-committees for its forthcoming 2026 National Convention, appointing Siminalayi Fubara, Governor of Rivers State, as Co-Chairman of the Election Appeal Committee.
The party said the committees were constituted as part of preparations to ensure a transparent and credible convention.
According to a statement signed by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the committees are mandated to coordinate critical operational, administrative, electoral, logistics, security and programme activities necessary for the seamless conduct of the convention.
Governor Fubara will serve alongside Agbu Kefas as Chairman and Abba Kabir Yusuf as Vice Chairman of the Election Appeal Committee.
Other key appointments include Umar Namadi as Chairman of the Screening Appeal Committee, with Francis Nwifuru as Co-Chairman and Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as Vice Chairman.
The Election Committee will be chaired by Aminu Bello Masari, with Anyim Pius Anyim as Co-Chairman, while Uba Sani and Monday Okpebholo will serve as Vice Chairmen.
For the Aspirants’ Screening Committee, Abiodun Oyebanji was named Chairman, alongside Usman Ododo as Co-Chairman and Ken Nnamani as Vice Chairman.
The Finance Committee will be led by Hope Uzodimma, with Babajide Sanwo-Olu as Co-Chairman and Olawale Edun as Vice Chairman.
On security arrangements, the committee will be chaired by Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), with Douye Diri as Co-Chairman and Nuhu Ribadu as Vice Chairman.
The Media and Publicity Committee will be headed by Mai Mala Buni, with Muhammed Idris Malagi as Co-Chairman.
Other committees cover venue, accreditation of delegates, protocol, accommodation and transportation, entertainment and welfare, legal advisory, medical and emergency response, as well as secretariat and technical support.
The party urged all committee members to discharge their responsibilities with diligence and in strict adherence to the party’s constitution and approved guidelines.
It also reassured members, stakeholders and Nigerians of its commitment to conducting a credible and transparent national convention aimed at strengthening internal democracy and consolidating its progressive ideals.
