The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) States Assembly Forum, Dagogo Fubara, has accused the party of refusing to issue aspirant nomination forms to him and others despite fulfilling all stipulated conditions.
Fubara made the claim on Tuesday during a live appearance on Prime Time, a programme aired on Arise Television. He noted that this was not his first attempt at contesting in a national convention, adding that organisers cited limited availability of forms as the reason for the denial.
According to him, all necessary payments were made and requirements met, including clearance in line with the convention’s rules and regulations.
However, upon reaching the designated department to collect the forms, they were informed that the forms had been exhausted.
Fubara expressed disappointment over the development, stating that the process, which dates back to 2012, was expected to encourage greater participation, particularly among younger members of the party.
He added that the convention should have provided an opportunity for new entrants to contribute to the growth of the APC under the leadership of Bola Tinubu.
