The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has attributed the difficulties experienced by Nigerians in applying for or renewing their driver’s licences to network disruptions affecting its system nationwide.
The Rivers State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Iyang Umoh, explained that the delays at driver’s licence centres are the result of technical challenges with the national network infrastructure and not a deliberate action by the agency.
He noted that services are gradually improving following the approval and deployment of a new network system in some centres across the country.
Umoh also urged applicants who completed their driver’s licence registration last year to return to their respective centres to collect their licences, revealing that many processed cards have already been produced but are yet to be claimed.
