MEDITATION SCRIPTURE: “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of King’s meat, nor with the wine which he drinks: therefore, he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.” (Dan. 1:8)

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
Having a purpose makes it impossible for an individual to merely exist. Your purpose is the “why” behind all your actions, your passions and pursuits. Daniel was a slave boy in a strange land. Everything was against him but he knew that nothing happening in his life that was a mistake. Purpose helps you to find a positive reason to every dead end of life. The path of destiny is not always a straight one. You may go down the road or even get lost. At some points there may be terrible oppositions, but purpose, helps you see even if is a single reason to continue even when there are one thousand reasons to quit. Every opportunity in life is a privilege to fulfill the purpose of your existence on earth, don’t toy with it.
Daniel and his three friends were not only youths that were brought as captivity from Judah but by providence, they were chosen to be trained as wise men in the kingdom of Babylon. A purpose driven life sees God in every opportunity and seek His glory rather than self-satisfaction and exaltation. When purpose is not defined, distraction is unavoidable. Daniel chose to remain a Jew and serve the God of Heaven at the risk of losing a promotion or even his life. Your purpose defines your motives and your actions. Success is not an accidental discharge; it is the product of diligence and the foundation stones of purpose.
TURNING POINT: A purpose driven life sees God in every opportunity and seek his glory rather than self-satisfaction and exaltation.
PRAYER POINT: Lord, help me to fulfill Your purpose for my life
