MEDITATION SCRIPTURE: “And behold I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give to every man according as his work shall be,”(Rev.22:12)
READ: COL.3:18-24
18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. 19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. 20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. 21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged. 22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God; 23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; 24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ
The pay package is the motivation of every worker. On the pay day there is excitement and relief because expectations are met. The mystery of seed time and harvest time is an eternal decree that both heaven and earth respects. Both in time and eternity there is a reward. Positive and negative deed all has their rewards. From our focal scripture, three things are certain about this pay day. ” Behold I come quickly”. This shows the certainty of pay day. You know sometimes there are long months. So called, not because of extension of day but due to pressure surrounding one’s expectations. Fear, doubt, characterized such days but eventually the pay day will come. For every seed sown, there is a day of harvest. Again, Jesus said “my reward is with me” showing that the reward actually comes from God, not from any man. This was why Paul enjoined the Colossians Christians to do all things as unto the Lord. The consciousness that God is our rewarder should motivate us to do our best for Him even when we may not understand or appreciate what we are doing. Lastly, He said “to give to every man according as his work shall be”. Dear reader, you will be rewarded base on your works. Men may pervert judgment or use wrong measures but God our Father is perfect and true in all His ways.
TURNING POINT: The mystery of seed time and harvest time is an eternal decree that both heaven and earth respects.
PRAYER POINT: Dear Lord, please help me to sow the seed of righteousness.
