MEDITATION SCRIPTURE: “Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.” (Isa.49: 16)
READ: JOSH. 1:5
5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
I don’t know how young Joshua felt, when Moses presented him to the congregation as his successor. But one thing was sure; he knew that he was stepping into very big shoes. There must have been a feeling of uncertainty and anxiety, knowing the kind of people he was called to lead, and the enormous responsibility of leading the people into the Promised Land. His assignment included conquering the land, and sharing the inheritance among God’s people. In the midst of all his fears and doubts, the voice of God spoke to Joshua; reassuring him of divine support and strength. Beloved, the voice of the LORD is real. He is speaking peace and courage into your soul. Hear me, it doesn’t matter what you are going through, there is a specific word for that situation.
You know sometimes, we feel lost, alone, and despondent. In our loneliness we begin to think that God is no more interested in us, which is not true. Hear what He says in our focal scripture, “I have engraved you in the palms of my hand.” That means you cannot be out of His sight. Anything you have in your hands always has the best of your attention and protection. His hands are big and strong enough to preserve whatever that has been placed on it; therefore, fear thou not. With this promise of God, Joshua matched over the walls of Jericho triumphantly. He conquered the Amorites, the Canaanites and the Perizites, to divide the land among God’s people. He lived to a full old age and died a fulfilled leader. You are a divine Project: God will not abandon you until He has fulfilled His promises in your life.
TURNING POINT: You are a divine Project: God will not abandon you until He has fulfilled His promises in your life.
