MEDITATION SCRIPTURE: The spirit of wisdom and understanding.”(Isa.11:2b)
READ: ISA.11:1-5
And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; 3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: 4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. 5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
Yesterday we saw that the Spirit of God comes upon individual to enable him meets certain needs of the hour. Not just their personal need but general need of the hour. When the Spirit came upon Saul, he began to prophesy and was changed into another man. This divine presence overtook Elijah and he was energized to outrun Ahab who was on horseback to the gate of Jezerel. The Spirit of the Lord is the Spirit of wisdom and understanding. Remember we said yesterday that the Spirit of the Lord enables individual perform according to the need of the hour. For King Solomon what he needed was wisdom to rule the people with equity and justice.
The Spirit of wisdom rested on him greatly so that he became the greatest King of Israel after David his father and the kingdom expanded greatly, though he never fought ant war. Kings and their people (kingdoms) willingly surrendered to him, because the Spirit of wisdom was upon him. All human being has a level of wisdom and intelligence as a natural endowment. However, when the Spirit of wisdom rests upon a person, he become an answer and solution to the problems and needs of others. When political strength and money fails, wisdom wins. Because of the Spirit of wisdom resting upon Jesus, the enemies of His mandate could not hinder or ensnare Him. They always had their great plans and hard questions but He never fallen victim of their scheming. The Spirit of wisdom does not remove obstacles from your part but shows you how to climb them and still get to the other side.

PRAYER POINT: Lord, fill me with Your Spirit of Wisdom.
