MEDITATION SCRIPTURE: “By faith Noah, being warned by God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his household by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.”( Heb.11:7)
READ: HEB.11:1-7
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. 4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. 5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. 7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
You may not understand Noah’s predicament very well until you read (Gen.2:5-6). Here it states that there have never been rain previously on earth. God sends a mist to water the ground daily. Therefore, when Noah preached about an impending flood, asking the people to repent and probably join him in the building of the Ark, his message was not heeded. The people could not conceive it in their minds so they threw it into the trash can and continue in their lasciviousness. Noah had never seen or heard of rain in his life but he simply believed the Word of God and began the building of the ark. This unquestionable obedience and submission to God’s Word is the ticket to joy and peace both in time and in eternity.
Our mandate is not to explain or to understand every move of God but to submit and obey in all times. This is same pattern of faith that Abraham followed and became the father of faith when he was called out and instructed to leave his father’s house, his kindred and his people; God didn’t tell him where he was going to. The message ended, “to the land that I will show you”. He didn’t know the name of the land, its location or condition yet he obeyed. Obedient faith is simply trust in God’s wisdom, His goodness and His ability to do whatever He says He will do; He has the power to handle every situation surrounding you. God is committed to this kind of faith wherever it is found, to honour the faithful and perfect His purpose.
TURNING POINT: Obedient faith is simply trust in God’s wisdom, His goodness and His ability to do whatever He says He will do.
PRAYER POINT: Lord, help me to obey You at all times.
