Fresh Manna 13 May
MEDITATION SCRIPTURE: “And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel. (judg.2:10)
READ: JUDGES 2:6-10
6 And when Joshua had let the people go, the children of Israel went every man unto his inheritance to possess the land.
7 And the people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the LORD, that he did for Israel.
8 And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being an hundred and ten years old.
9 And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnathheres, in the mount of Ephraim, on the north side of the hill Gaash.
10 And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel.
The disobedience of Adam and Eve introduced death into the human race. This means that the original pattern of continuity and immortality was broken. Meaning that man would die from the face of the earth, only his legacies would remain as memory of him.
God established a pattern of what may be theological education with Abraham. “For I know him, that he will command his children and his house hold after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, (Gen.18:19) You don’t need to go far to discover that Abraham passed on his Godly values to Isaac (Gen.26:25) and Isaac passed the pattern to Jacob.
All through the time that Jacob lived with Laban, he maintained his identity and Laban testified to that (Gen 30:27). Today, we see a generation that knows not the LORD neither the works which He did in Israel, what went wrong. The dilemma Israel faced in her generation is clearly seen in the Church today.
We have great apostles, pastors and teachers, great prophets whose sons and daughters are cultist in our universities. Recently, I saw the video of the conversion testimony of the son of the greatest preachers of our time. He was a great cultist who became a Capone and was even initiating other youths into cultism.
I rejoice and also wept as I watched the video. Rejoicing because Christ has found him, and weeping because of the havoc he had caused the kingdom of God and the pains he had caused his parents. Proper Christian discipleship of the young generation is the key to continuity of our faith and divine patterns.

PRAYER POINT: Lord, help us to successfully pass the baton to the next generation, so that the legacy of truth and Godliness will not be lost.
