Suspected gang members have killed three people in Oyorokotor community, Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, during an early-morning attack on Tuesday.
A community source said the attackers arrived in a speedboat around midnight and moved from house to house, shooting residents believed to be rivals.
The incident came less than 24 hours after another person was killed in Ngo community on Monday, while a separate killing was reported in Unyegala community on Sunday, raising concerns over escalating violence in the area.
The spate of attacks has heightened fear among residents, with some fleeing their homes to seek safety elsewhere.
Earlier, the Rivers State Police Command spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the killings in Ngo and Unyegala, describing them as clashes stemming from a struggle for control between rival gangs. She said police operatives are intensifying efforts to apprehend those responsible.
