The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, (NIDCOM) has reacted to the arrest and continuous detention of Nigerian artists, Tems and Omah Lay in Uganda.

Chairman of the Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa in a series of tweets has disclosed that the Nigerian government is doing everything within its powers to ensure the release of the duo.

“The Nigerian mission in Uganda is doing everything to get them freed. #FreeOmahLay, #FreeTems,” Dabiri tweeted.

This is coming hours after Omah Lay had in a tweet accused the  Ugandan Government of preventing the Nigerian government from intervening on the matter.

Everything possible is being done to get you out . https://t.co/QK9xCiTXSD

I do understand your point .However, we still have to intervene . Our mission in Uganda is on the matter though Uganda is insisting their laws must be obeyed. https://t.co/zHjYEzV2t0

Not true. Our mission in Uganda is working on this frantically. You can confirm from their lawyers. Efforts are being made . We will do everything possible to get them freed. https://t.co/xSeT3EwWuc
