Four Oil Thieves Jailed in Port Harcourt

A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, has convicted and sentenced four oil thieves, Abubakar Saidu, Mohammed Abubakar, Godswill Ahukanna and Mogaji Inuwa to different jail terms.

The presiding judge, Justice A.T. Mohammed sentenced the convicts on a one count charge of illegal dealing in petroleum products.

The convicts, were arraigned by the Port Harcourt office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, after they were arrested by the Nigerian Army in 2019.

While, Mohammed Abubakar and Ahukanna were sentenced to two years imprisonment with an option of a fine of three hundred thousand naira, for the former and one hundred and fifty thousand naira for the latter.

Saidu and Inuwa were sentenced to one year imprisonment with an option of a fine of two hundred thousand naira each, payable to the Single Treasury Account of the Federal Government.
