Former Governor of Rivers State, Ada George, has accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, of being the mastermind behind the ongoing political turmoil in the state.
George alleged that Wike orchestrated the imposition of a state of emergency and the controversial appointment of sole administrators in all 23 local government areas. He further claimed that the FCT Minister is fueling instability in a bid to enforce his political will after reportedly failing to control the current leadership of the state.
“He could set ablaze states where the governors did not share his views. And that is exactly what I think he is trying to do in Rivers State. Enough is enough. We will not allow him to set Rivers State ablaze anymore,” he said.
He also condemned the State of Emergency declared in Rivers, describing it as unconditional.
“The appointment of sole administrators is unconstitutional. “There are laid down legal processes for constituting local government leadership. This action undermines those principles,” he added.
