Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned the arraignment of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai to April 23.
El-Rufai is facing a three-count charge filed by the Department of State Services (DSS) over the alleged unlawful interception of communications, linked to remarks he made during a television interview.
The arraignment, originally scheduled for February 25, did not proceed as El-Rufai was absent. The DSS informed the court that he remains in the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), where he is being investigated for alleged misappropriation of funds.
