Former Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Chidi Lloyd, has distanced himself from the declaration of a state of emergency, stating that he is neither responsible for the decision nor a member of the National Assembly that ratified the president’s request.
Lloyd, in a statement, also dismissed allegations of undermining government efforts to boost national revenue, insisting that his actions have always aligned with national interests.
He urged his supporters to remain calm, assuring them that he is in good health and has not been arrested or interrogated.
Part of yhe statement read,
“I am not the one who declared state of emergency, neither am i a member of the National Assembly that ratified Mr. President’s request.”
“Please take your frustrations elsewhere, it is on record how i fought assiduously to end pipeline vandalism in my local government during my reign as Chairman. I will not at this time turn around to sabotage government efforts at increased revenue for the nation.
“This isn’t politics, if you were so offended by my interview on Focus Nigeria, i still maintain that we gave Fmr. Gov. Fubara a Mercedes Benz to learn how to drive instead of a beetle, thank God i have been vindicated.“
