Reactions have continued to trail Governor Nyesom Wike’s announcement of an 11th and 12th flyovers to be constructed by his administration.
The Governor, had few days ago while inspecting ongoing projects announced that his administration would construct its 11th and 12th flyovers to ease traffic.
However, former Special Adviser to the Governor, Opunabo Nko- Tariah has said that the two flyover are not in the interest of Rivers people.
Opunabo who said this shortly after the Governor’s declaration stated that there is no justitication for the two flyovers.
According to him, Rivers people are suffering and are in dire need of proper jobs, adding that the flyovers only provide minear jobs for those at the the bottom of the pecking order.
He also said the state needs industries and companies for her people to be gainfully employed to cushion the effect of poverty in the land.
In the same vein, the Rivers State Civil Society Organization, RIVCSO, has called on the state government to rescind its decision, and the funds diverted to other critical sectors.
