The Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria, has urged farmers in Rivers State whose crops are at risk of being destroyed by flooding to visit the Agricultural Development Project, ADP in the state to access crop varieties that cannot be destroyed by flood.
Sheriff Garuba, Executive Secretary, of the council made the call in a statement on Wednesday.
According to him, research institutes and the ADP program have developed technologies designed to mitigate the risk of disasters.
This follows warnings by NEMA that some LGAs in the state will suffer flooding this year.
