The Rivers State Government has said that it would not be taken unwares by this year’s flood.
The state commissioner of Health, Hon. Adaeze Oreh said this during a sensitization programme in Opobo/Nkoro LGA.
According to her, the state government has taken proactive measures to mitigate the impact of the predicted floods.
On his part, Chairman of Opobo/Nkoro, Enyiada Cookey-Gam said the flood management committee of the council is currently going round sensitizing the people on the predicted flood.
He said part of their duty is to identify flood prone areas and ensure the drainages are clean.
