The people of Engenni Kingdom in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State, have called on the state government to come to their aid as flood has taken over the area.
Some indigenes in a chat with journalists yesterday, said their homes and farmlands have been taken over by flood.
One of them said, they have been rendered homeless, and that they have nowhere to go to. He also said their source of livelihood have been destroyed.
He disclosed that what they need now is shelter and pallative to cushion the effect of the flood on them.
He noted that they will only support and vote those who come to their rescue this trying period.
Reports say the flood is caused by the overflow of Kainji and Jebba dams. Also with the opening of Lagdo Dam in Cameroon.
