The Hon. Martin Amaewhule-led House of Assembly has called on the National Emergency Management Agency, (NEMA) and other relevant government agencies to include Rivers State in their flood response plan.
Media aide to Amaewhule, Martins Wachukwu said the appeal was made during plenary on Monday.
This was while resolving on a Motion moved by the Rt. Hon. Dumle Maol. Moving the Motion, Rt.Hon Maol stated that the anticipated flood is hinged on the information that the authorities of the Republic of Cameroon had notified the Nigerian government of their planned regulated release of water from the Lagdo Dam.
He said, members who debated on the motion spoke in support of the Motion, emphasizing the need to enlighten their constituents on the impending flood.
