Five chieftains of the All Progressives Congress in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, have defected from the party to the National Rescue Movement.
Governorship candidate of the party, Hon. Sobomabo Jackrich received the defectors at his office on Thursday.
The defectors include: Mrs. Salvation (present odiaje community women secretary ward 11 Ahoada East LGA and others), Hon. Aliegbe Goodlive Caleb (ex legislative leader Ahoada East LGA), High chief innocent Omar (former APC secretary/ Reps candidate in 2019 Ahoada East LGA), Peters Ayiga (former ward 3 deputy chairman Ahoada East LGA), and Chidi Ewoh.
This follows a ruling of the Federal High Court which nullified all primaries of the party in the state.
Meanwhile, the party had in a statement urged its supporters not to be perturbed by the ruling.
