The National Emergency Management Agency, South South Zone, has warned people of the region to be careful and avoid acts that could lead to fire outbreaks this period.
Zonal Coordinator, Godwin Tepikor gave the warning yesterday, during a one day sensitization and awareness campaign on fire prevention and response at the Mile 3 market in Port Harcourt.
He said it was necessary for the agency to sensitize the traders on measures to take during emergencies.
Tepikor, added that the agency will continue to sensitize the public on better ways to manage disasters.
The traders in a chat with us, commended the Agency and Management of the market for the initiative.
They assured the organizers of practicing all they had learnt on disaster prevention and management.
