Final-year students of the Department of Theatre and Film Studies, University of Port Harcourt, added a cultural dimension to their academic exercise on Friday as they appeared in diverse traditional attires for their course examination in Nigerian Theatre and Drama.
The initiative, which turned the examination hall into a vibrant display of Nigeria’s cultural heritage, was aimed at reinforcing the link between scholarship and tradition.
According to the department, the exercise reflects UniPort’s broader commitment to academic excellence while promoting unity in diversity. Officials said it was designed to encourage students to embrace and express cultural identity as part of their training.
University authorities noted that the practice underscores UniPort’s philosophy of combining theory with practical experiences to produce well-rounded graduates equipped to contribute to society.
