Fidelity Bank Plc has extended its Food Bank initiative to Ihie Town in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State, distributing food packs to over 1,500 residents in a bid to alleviate hunger and support vulnerable communities.
The outreach, carried out in partnership with The Reach Nigeria Foundation, is part of the bank’s ongoing corporate social responsibility efforts. Speaking at the event, Ibisiki Eretoru, Regional Bank Head for Rivers/Bayelsa 1 & South Commercial, emphasized the bank’s commitment to community well-being as a core component of its business philosophy.
“Our Food Bank Initiative enables us to contribute meaningfully to the communities where we operate. Every month, with the help of our partners, we deliver food to individuals and families across Nigeria,” Eretoru stated.
The CEO of The Reach Nigeria Foundation, Benedicta Ibiyemie Ayarete, noted that Ihie Town was chosen for the initiative due to food scarcity challenges faced by the community during the post-planting, pre-harvest season.
Local leaders, including HRH Eze Josiah Nwagwu, Clan Head of Ozuzu Etche, were present at the distribution event, alongside Fidelity Bank and foundation officials.
