Yesterday, the 11th of August, 2023, the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Nigeria Rivers State Branch, inaugurated the FIDA Nigeria, Rivers State University, Chapter.
The President Miss Precious Ajie and her executive committee were sworn in by Mrs Iniobong Irene Pepple, the secretary of FIDA Rivers State branch.
During the event, the chairperson of FIDA Rivers Adata Bio-Briggs informed the students of the organization’s aims and objectives and encouraged them to represent FIDA as good ambassadors.
The chapter’s matrons, Dr Bunmi Akaakar, Dr Boma Toby, and Dr Ibietela Madighi Obu, delivered goodwill messages and advised the students to prioritize their academics while acting as worthy representatives of FIDA.
The Chairperson of FIDA Rivers decorated and presented the Executives of the Student Chapter as well as the matrons to all present.
The executive committee of FIDA Nigeria, Rivers State branch, and other senior members of the branch also attended the inauguration.
Mrs Chioma Amaehule, the coordinator of the RSU chapter, expressed gratitude to professors C. C. Wigwe SAN and Dr Tony Francis for their roles in making the event a success.
Overall, the program was a great success.
