The recent spate of domestic violence in Rivers State by wives on their husbands is now a concern in the state.
Recall that 23-year-old Favour Nweke last week poured hot groundnut oil on her husband Ekelediri Nwankwo in Etche LGA of Rivers state.
Days after, Another lady Godslove Olakada in Agbo Nchia Community bathed her husband Ejike Olakada with hot water because he allegedly refused to give her part of the fifteen thousand naira from the community money shared to their family.
Reacting to these cases, Chairperson International federation of women lawyers FIDA in Rivers State Adata Bio – Briggs in an interview advised couples to take a break and walk away when their marriages starts becoming toxic adding that no amount of provocation should warrant any case of domestic violence.
