The International Federation of Women Lawyers in Rivers State has called on the Police and other relevant authorities to arrest and prosecute some OSPAC members.
The members are accused of stripping a woman, Comfort Eze naked for allegedly stealing cassava from her neighbours farm at Ovogho community in Emohua LGA.
Member of FIDA in the state, Edna Amadi made this known in a chat with journalists over the weekend. She stated that the act is condemnable as OSPAC has no such right to treat any individual in such a manner.
The victim a middle-aged woman, accused the OSPAC officials of seizing her after she had gone to her neighbors farm to harvest cassava.
Mrs Eze said the security personnel who accused her of stealing the farm produce, stripped her naked and took pictures of her which they uploaded on the internet.
The victim equally alleged that she was physically assaulted and was meant to pay N52,000 for her release. The woman also claimed that the OSPAC members are still demanding for twenty thousand naira from her.
