Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Arch. Tonye Cole has reacted to the ruling of a Federal High Court in Port Harcourt in a suit by Bernard Mikko challenging his emergence as flagbearer of the party.
Mikko, had dragged Cole before the Court demanding his dismissal as the party’s flagbearer. However the court in its ruling yesterday dismissed the suit for lack of merit.
Reacting to the ruling, Cole in a statement commended members of the party for standing by him, adding that APC will be on the ballot in 2023.
His statement reads,
My people, recall that a suit was filed against me and on Thursday the 24th of November 2022, the suit by Bernard Miko dismissed my candidacy as the flag bearer of the APC for the gubernatorial election to prevent me from contesting in the 2023 election.
You all prayed, waited, stood, fought and believed in me and today I am pleased to inform you all that after my appeal at the Federal High Court the suit has been dismissed in my favour for lack of merit.
I want to thank everyone of you for staying true to the party and again use this medium to remind you all that the APC Rivers State will be on the ballot come 2023.
We continue to remain fearless and unshakable and move #ForwardWithCourage.
