The Federal Ministry of Livestock Development has announced plans to recruit 37,000 youths and women across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as part of efforts to enhance commercial livestock production.
The initiative, which falls under President Bola Tinubu’s broader agenda on youth and livestock development, was disclosed by the Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Maiha, during a meeting with executives from the Brazilian agribusiness giant, JBS S.A.
According to a statement issued by the ministry’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Ben Bem Goong, the minister stated that the partnership between Nigeria and Brazil would target young people with a demonstrable interest in livestock, aiming to drive growth and sustainability in the sector.
